Jack has made a valuable contribution to the development of our single malt distillery at Modinagar. He understood that we wanted the flexibility to produce different styles of whisky, and helped translate that ambition into practical decisions about the plant and equipment.
His input went beyond the distilling process. Jack brought thoughtful, creative ideas to the architectural detailing, considering how the equipment, building and working spaces would fit together. He could look at a drawing from an operator’s perspective while also recognising the details that would give the distillery its character.
Having him involved in discussions with suppliers and the wider project team helped us work through technical questions and find opportunities to improve value without losing sight of quality. He was equally willing to get into the detail on site, where his practical experience was particularly useful during commissioning.
Jack is straightforward, approachable and easy to work with. He listens carefully, gives a clear view and follows things through. He is also willing to challenge an idea when he feels it needs another look, remaining objective and candid even when the conversation is difficult. We have appreciated both his technical judgement and his enthusiasm for what we are building.
