Spirit character, equipment and the people operating it
Jack helps distillery owners connect the spirit they want to make with the process, equipment and operating decisions needed to produce it. His work spans distillery development, equipment specification and sourcing, installation and commissioning, operational improvement, spirit formulation and wood policy.
He holds an MSc in Brewing and Distilling and a PhD in Astrophysics. His analytical background sits alongside practical distillery experience, including previous roles at Glasgow Distillery and Holyrood Distillery. Those operating roles form part of Jack’s personal career; the featured Maven projects describe his subsequent consultancy contributions.
Through Maven Spirits, Jack has worked with clients in the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Slovenia, Italy, India, Japan, New Zealand and Ethiopia. He is available to travel for client site visits, equipment inspections and work with manufacturers.

What working together can involve
The scope can be a specific technical question, an equipment review or support through a larger development. Start by describing the decision you need to make, your intended spirit and the stage the project has reached. Jack can then help define the scope, deliverables and any specialist input required before work begins.
